Gambrel/barn roof transition shingling???

Yes, using the standard 3 tab shingle over the transition would be watertight. How sharp is the change in pitch? I'm trying to visualize having 1 row of 3 tabs on there. It probably won't look too bad, especially since you will have the same look at the ridge. It sounds like the you chose the best way to handle the situation. Good luck.
