What does this dream mean?

I had a dream that I think was rife with meaning. Before I feel asleep I watched a video on the news about an attempted robbery. Two robbers ran into a shop with guns and masks over their faces. The shop owner had a chihuahua, and the chihuahua leapt at the robbers and bit their knees and chased them out of the shop. Then I had a dream that I accidentally set my house on fire. I owned the same chihuahua, and I had to pick him up and hold him while I put the fire out. I was able to put out the fire myself, and felt extremely pleased with myself that I was able to do so, but extremely ashamed that I had started the fire in the first place. After the fire was out, some firemen came to my house to tell me not to start anymore fires. Before they left, one of them shook my hand while I was holding the chihuahua. We shook with our left hands, which I think must have some meaning. (I'm right-handed, by the way.)
