How would the U.S. Military respond to an alien invasion?

The response would be quick and immediate as modern radar and Satellite surveillance work around the clock and check every suspicious movement. Let us hope nuclear and hydrogen bombs and deadly chemical weapons are not used as that may send us back to oblivion and the world to stone age.
