MY BETTA FISH IS SICK! PLEASE help me!!!!!!?

I have taken home my schools blue male betta fish for the holidays, his name is Winston. I have been taking care of him fine, feeding him some dry shrimp brine twice a day, making sure his water is clean and not too cold, making sure he has some light and music during the day when I am not around and everything. But this morning when i was feeding him a little bit for breakfast he started to eat normally, but then when i looked away to take the bed sheets off my bed and looked back over again, i saw this little pink organ like thing sticking out. its dangling from between his two front fins in a little long line and then it is like a ball of yarn except thicker and pink. it is a very tiny ball. i am really afraid that this is one of his intestines or something, and i was really treating him fine, just like the school gave me directions to do! Please help me! Is he going to die? What should I do!!??
