Why do men and women sell their humanity and dignity for money?

Alot of these people were brought up in hell hole families that d and abused them, then they went to drugs and thats the only way they can afford without stealing, also some people were brought with an open mind when it comes to , they know no different so they aren't degrading themselves, only in other peoples eyes
