What is the usual burial procedure for a deaceased full-term pregnant women?
In the state of Illinois autopsy is not REQUIRED on a pregnant female just because she is pregnant........When the mother is embalmed the fetus IS NOT EXTRACTED. The mother is embalmed in the traditional manner (Arterial). Then the baby is embalmed via a trocar since the arterial fluid DOES NOT get to the fetus via the mother (Believe it or not but true) The fetus is embalmed via the trocar to bathe it in embalming fluid just like the internal organs are treated via aspiration and bathing by cavity fluid.
