Do certain adoptees ever get over themselves?

I enjoy reading this board primarily due to seeing both the positive and negative views from those who have personal experience with adoption. Our society presents adoption as a rosy, happy-ever-after situation where the benefits outweigh the disruption of families, Unfortunately this is not always the case. I'm also learning from the posters here what my children need to feel more emotionally secure in life. I'm a parent, I do (and probably will continue to) make mistakes but I'm also willing to learn, accept others viewpoints and hopefully enhance my life and my children's.
