When do you think a kid should move out of his parents house??

Im 18 and im movin into nyc after college (22)to become an nypd officer but i feel that there are so many kids that are livin with their parents until they like 30...i think thats kinda old but my cuz is 26 and he still lives at home it think it is kinda weird but what is an appropriate age to move out???
